![]() There are some ideas which do help with manpower, but like building armouries, they take a large investment, for what I consider to be very modest gains. By increasing your total manpower your manpower will also increase by more each month. If you are lucky enough to get a level 1 military advisor that provides a manpower bonus early in the game, I would recommend hiring them. Building armouries early on does help a little, but the manpower boost is quite modest. They are inexpensive and provide a massive tax bonus. This is a common mistake, and I am not sure if there is anything you can do in your current game other than completely staying out of wars for the next 30-50 years to try and build up manpower and tech, but that may not even be enough.įor future games you need to focus early on getting administrative tech level 5 and building temples and constables in all of your provinces. It is often tempting to try and conquer a lot of territory right at the beginning of the game, but you will quickly find yourself behind on tech, out of manpower, with a low tax base, and quite often with rebel problems. I haven't watched your LP, but it sounds like you entered in to too many wars too early. I'm sure I'm doing something (terribly) wrong, but for the life of me I don't know what. I just took Quantity for my next idea to get the 20% boost and when the building to boost recovery rate opens up I'll build it, but what else am I supposed to do? I can't very well go to war with 3/15 of my standing army and waiting is only making my army tradition decrease more. I know manpower (recovery rates at least) are based off of ideas, buildings, combat and sieges. At this rate, I can fight MAYBE one battle per war and then spend the next 20 years trying to recover the troops I actually HAVE, let alone gain any more manpower. I'm trying to keep up tech wise with everyone else, but in a 15k vs 4k battle against norway I lost 6k men and only killed about 800. My actual limit is around 28k or so, but I'm only gaining ~180 a month. It's been about 50 years and I've been lucky to have over 5,000 manpower in reserve at any one point in time. I've broken free from Denmark and managed to take a couple provinces back, but I'm completely screwed with manpower. So I've recently started a new LP of Sweden (Video link if anyone is interested: ) and I find myself banging my head against a wall.
